Cast of Phantasm
The movie Phantasm and the three sequels following it were such huge hits due largely to the cast that brought the characters to life and chilled audiences to their very bones. The cast is large but with each character being profoundly unique. A fight against good and evil, these characters truly have you rooting for the good guys while finding the bad guys extremely fascinating. Read on below to find out more about these characters and what makes them who they are.
The Tall Man: Is played by Angus Scrimm is the main antagonize in all four films. He is the ruler of the dwarf zombies and uses spheres and drills to torture and kill his victims.
Reggie: The role of Reggie is played by Reggie Bannister. In the films, Reggie starts as an ice cream vendor as well as playing in a blues band but he quickly gives up both in order to fight off The Tall Man with the other characters.
Mike: Mike is played by A. Michael Baldwin in all but the second film. Mike becomes captured by The Tall Man and is relying on his friend Reggie to save him while also finding safety within one of the spheres, which contains the brain of his dead brother Jody.
Jody: Jody is Mike’s older brother and is killed in the first movie although he continues to appear in the third and fourth as well. He is extremely protective of Mike, particularly because their parents have died and at first disbelieving Mike in his tales about The Tall Man, believes him eventually and begins the quest to destroy him.
The Lady in Lavender: This part is played by Kat Lester, who seems perfect for the part with her seductive ways and flowing blonde hair. The Lady in Lavender first appears in the first movie when she kills Mike’s and Jody’s friend Tommy in a cemetery. She later tries to kill Jody as well but Mike intervenes and his brother’s life is saved. The Lady in Lavender is soon to be revealed as The Tall Man.
Jennifer: The role of Jennifer is played by Heidi Marnhout. Jennifer only appears in the fourth film and begins her role as a love interest for Reggie. However, he soon finds out that she is working with the spheres and is forced to kill her.
Liz: Liz is played by Paula Irvine and appears in the second and third movies. She is a psychic and when she first appears in the second movie, she is aware that Mike has been taken by The Tall Man because she has seen it. She begins to fight with Reggie against the evil forces at work but is scared that once her grandfather dies, all of her premonitions will come true.
Alchemy: Played by Samantha Phillips, she first appears to be an innocent young lady using a pay phone. However, once The Tall Man appears to be defeated and the gang begins to celebrate, she is unmasked as one of the zombies.
Rocky: Gloria Lynn Henry takes on the role of Rocky in Phantasm III and plays one of Reggie’s love interests. She continues to help Reggie and Mike fight against The Tall Man.
All of the characters in these films, no matter how major or minor their roles, played a part in making Phantasm what it is today. Most of the actors who played the roles are most known for them today as Phantasm has a very loyal following and those who know it love it!
